Long Beach is a city within southern California, USA, on the Pacific coast. It is to be found in Los Angeles County, about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

This city is known as the 36th largest city in the nation and also the 5th largest in California. The estimated population as of 2009 was around 492,682. Long beach is also recognized as the 2nd largest city within the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. Recently, Long Beach was ranked America’s 8th most walkable city.
